With a menu that combines afternoon tea’s more lavish characteristics with a style-maven’s eye for beauty, the playful offering is just the latest reason to visit Bloor Street’s hottest new hotel. Launched on December 9, High Beau-Tea effortlessly fits in with W Toronto’s flair for fun. A social hub located in trendy Yorkville village, the ever-chic W Toronto invites guests to indulge in life’s finer things, free of formality.
Headed by executive chef Keith Pears, each of W Toronto’s dining destinations features a menu driven by seasonality, flavour and guest amusement. The Living Room’s newest offering, High Beau-Tea puts the team’s fanciful approach to food on full display, while paying homage to the hotel’s chic environs.
Currently available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, for groups of two or more, each tea includes a whimsical assortment of delicate sweet and savoury treats. Presented in a custom makeup case that unfolds to reveal the charming bites within, the High Beau-Tea begins with a savoury assortment that includes “crystal” bread with Niagara prosciutto and smoked sturgeon cannelloni. From there, guests are invited to sample edible strawberry “lipsticks,” ruby fudge “handbags,” clotted “night” cream, sophisticated macarons, twee tarts, and other delightful goodies. Paired with premium floral loose-leaf tea, each midday meal can also be enjoyed with an optional glass (or bottle) of prosecco or Moët & Chandon Champagne, for a leisurely afternoon to remember.
