Pho, vermicelli, pad Thai, oh my!
Dear Saigon is the newest Vietnamese noodle bar on College St. The restaurant held the grand opening for its first location in downtown Toronto at 185 College St. on May 6, following a soft opening in March. This is Dear Saigon's second location, subsequent to its popular location in Richmond Hill.
The restaurant serves authentic, flavourful noodles on a menu that pays homage to the city of Saigon. Evoking memories of the owners' beloved hometown, the chefs at Dear Saigon use fresh, quality ingredients in every bowl they serve.
Of course, a plethora of noodles are available, namely, a variety of pho, vermicelli, pad Thai, satay and tom yum. Vietnamese coffee, smoothies and fresh rolls made daily are also on the menu, alongside a few rice dishes. Notably, the new location on College also serves tacos.
Dear Saigon's website notes that the founders immigrated to Canada with a dream of recreating the city of Saigon on a plate. With a house made fish sauce, bone broth that is kept boiling for six hours a day, and gorgeous presentations for each dish, their mission seems to have been a success.
As for the interior, the ceiling is covered in bright flowers and the space is bright, clean and comfortable. Over all, the new Dear Saigon location is a great spot for a casual hangout or a cozy solo meal.
Dear Saigon is open at 185 College St. from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m. Keep up with Dear Saigon on Instagram.
