Chef Keith Froggett, one of the most renowned chefs of Toronto, is opening a new restaurant space in Orangeville, Ont. called Greystones Restaurant and Lounge.
Froggett is the owner and executive chef of Scaramouche in the Forest Hill neighbourhood. He will be joined by his son Benn Froggett, co-owner of the beloved Glen Tavern in Halton Hills, Ont., and Jennifer Dettels, who purchased the historic Greystones building a number of years ago, as co-owners.
Greystones Restaurant and Lounge will boast a gorgeous space that takes the sophisticated elegance of Scaramouche and combines it with the laid-back country flare of the Glen Tavern.
The menu will feature a contemporary lineup with seasonal flavours ranging between a series of small plates, pizzas, house-made pastas and more.
The Greystones building in the town of Orangeville has seen many transformations since being built in 1852. Most recently, it was home to SteakHouse63, who announced their closure in May 2020 due to COVID-related struggles.
Being one of the first permanent structures in the area, even before the establishment of the township, the building has gone through significant renovations this year in anticipation of the new restaurant.
Greystones is perched right on the main Broadway strip in Orangeville, which has a vibrant and historic feel. The town has hosted great events in the past, including the Blues and Jazz Festival, which is their annual largest event.
