One of Toronto's most unique bottle shops has left its charming Bloordale location behind and reopened not too far away.
4th and 7 Bottle Shop has moved from its 1211 Bloor Street West digs and reopened inside Society Clubhouse at 967 College Street.
The speciality bottle shop is popular for its selection of Ontario beers that can't be found at the LCBO, including rotating offerings from Toronto breweries such as Left Field, Eastbound, Bellwoods and Blood Brothers, as well as ones from across the province, like Badlands Brewing Company in Cheltenham, Ont., Willibald in Ayr, Ont., and Sawdust City Brewing in Gravenhurst, among many, many others.
Jeff Caires is the mind behind 4th and 7. When the pandemic hit in March 2020, Caires had recently closed his iconic Queen West bar, Tequila Bookworm. His attention shifted to his second venture, titled “The Four Seven”, which he opened in 2014 alongside his business partners Andrew and Daniel Usher. Caires knew he had to change his approach to The Four Seven due to the pandemic, and that's when the hole-in-the-wall, late night space to eat and drink transformed into 4th and 7 Bottle Shop.
Brew fanatics and casual drinkers alike can typically find a pour to suit their tastes with the bottle shop's carefully curated collection, carrying some 300 varieties of beer at a time.
The bottle shop may have relocated to the hybrid space that is Society Clubhouse, but visitors can still expect the same commitment to hard to find, limited edition and newly released beer in the new space.
4th and 7 is open at Society Clubhouse Mondays and Tuesdays from 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keep up with 4th and 7 on Instagram.
