Pizzeria Libretto just announced that they will be opening a fifth location at 3011 Dundas Street West in the Junction.
Slated to open February 1, the new location will feature the same staple menu items of leopard-spotted Neapolitan pies, a selection of antipasti like meatballs, arancini and salads and their famed tiramisu.
Following the successful launch of chef Rocco Agostino's and Libretto Restaurant Group president Max Rimaldi's authentic Neapolitan-style pizzeria on Ossington back in 2008, the business partners went on to open three more locations; Danforth, University and King. Although King has remained closed throughout the pandemic, the Danforth and University locations have stayed open since last March (University was temporarily closed but is reopening as of tomorrow).
Pizzeria Libretto has done everything possible to adapt to the current environment. To diversify their menu and create items conducive to takeaway and at-home dining, chef Agostino introduced both Neo-NY-style pies and Sicilian-style squares to his menu, as well as a selection of pizza and cocktail kits. Libretto Restaurant Group also launched a line of frozen pizzas, something they had been discussing for years up until the pandemic -- when suddenly that type of offering seemed to be a temporary solution to dine-in restrictions. The pizzas are available at several Toronto specialty food shops, like Pusateri's, Rowe Farms, Fresh and Wild and Roast Fine Foods -- to name a few.
The Junction location is not the only project that the Libretto team has undertaken this past year, the group also launched a Bayview Village pop-up and has secured another location at Yonge and Sheppard but construction has yet to commence due to setbacks from the pandemic.
The new location's menu will reflect the restaurant group's other outposts, but the interior decor will showcase the Junction neighbourhood's unique identity. The new Libretto is welcomed by other Junction businesses such as Chica's Chicken, When The Pig Came Home, Bunner's Bake Shop and Nodo.
