If you live in the east end of town, chances are you’ve spotted a small, bubble-gum pink robot roaming down the city’s streets.
Founded by Ignacio Tartavull, Tiny Mile is a Toronto startup that’s revolutionizing the future of deliveries through Geoffrey, a food delivery robot that’s remotely driven using gaming controllers.
Compared to other delivery services, Tiny Mile makes deliveries more affordable for both restaurants and consumers by offering significantly lower delivery fees.
They've partnered up with over a dozen restaurants around the east end of the city, including Distillery District's El Catrin and Cluny Bistro, Mean Bao in Leslieville, Riverside's Indian Spice Room and Billy's Burgers on Pape, to name a few.
All you have to do is place a delivery order online through any of their partnered restaurants and wait for a notification to pop up that Geoffrey is three minutes away. Once the cute robot has arrived at your doorstep, the lid—that's locked during delivery—opens and your food is ready to be picked up.
The entire process is contactless, which helps prevent the spread of COVID-19 and eco-friendly as Tiny Mile's invention produces zero emissions.
So the next time you see a tiny pink robot on the streets, know it's Geoffrey doing its job.
