Peter Pan Bistro has long been known as a Toronto staple. On the busy, bustling corner of Queen West, they've been serving modern French bistro food to Toronto patrons for many years, first opening (under a slightly different name) in the 1920s. We can all recall visits to the city with our family, booking a table at Peter Pan before a night at the theatre or seeing an exciting concert.
Of course, the pandemic has brought many changes upon us. And although the name Peter Pan implies it may never grow up, this spot has proved that regardless of what they're faced with, they'll be sure to grow their offerings to keep afloat. Peter Pantry intelligently opened in early 2020, and since, they've been ever-evolving to ensure we're well-fed and keep the libations flowing.
They not only sell their specialty wines (some now available as samples as well) and craft beers but have been providing a variety of food offerings. They've sold dinner kits to finesse at home and have barbecued on the corner with dinners for one or two. They've packaged up wide selections of soups-to-go, like seafood chowders or French onion soup; they curated gift packs for Christmas and began pickling several goodies for you to bring your quarantine cooking up a notch.
Recently, they've impressed us once again by making their wonderful cocktail concoctions available for us at home. Peter Pan's pantry bottles Oaxacan Squares with tequila and brandy, sweet Bijou's with vermouth and bitters and classic Bistro Boulevardiers.
That not enough to tickle your fancy? Check out their brand-new wine quizzes from home, perfect to try alone, for indoor date nights as we're confined once again to our four walls or to give as a gift to a wine-loving friend. They bring on teams of the city's best sommeliers to battle it out and taste-test while you down little tastings of your own.
So next time you're on the lookout for a meal kit for two, a fun wine to mix things up or a cocktail that you don't have to create on your own, look no further than Peter Pantry at the front of Peter Pan Bistro, on the corner of Queen and Peter, open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
