This lauded French restaurant has finally reopened for takeout

La Banane restaurant has finally reopened for takeout since closing its doors back in March at the pandemic's onset.

Highly regarded as one of the best restaurants in the city, as well as one of the best restaurants on Canada's 100 Best Restaurants list, it comes with great excitement to see the yellow door open once again.

La Banane

La Banane is part of King Street Company Inc., the beloved restaurant empire that is responsible for establishments such as Buca and Jacob's & Co. Steakhouse, which has faced tremendous debt in recent months (owing nearly $46 million). After struggling through unrelenting hardships like many Toronto restaurants, the group has received protection from creditors and is trying to re-establish itself.

Pivoting to a takeout-only operation is no easy feat, especially for a fine dining restaurant when atmosphere and presentation are crucial components to enjoying the meal. After operating a casual fried chicken pop-up out of the restaurant back in the summer, which was helmed by former chef Brandon Olsen, the restaurant seems to be exploring other avenues to serve their customers.

Just in time for the holidays, La Banane has festive meals for takeout and delivery on Tock.

Order a Dinner for 2, with options like their famed Trout-en-Croûte, Duck Confit or Herb-Crusted Prime Rib Dinner. Mains come with brioche au levain, little gem salad, celery root gratin with black truffle and a dark chocolate and cherry trifle for dessert.

For $125 for two people, your holiday plans just got a whole lot brighter.
