Sombrero Latin Foods is an Ontario-based company specializing in Latin American food products. Their founders and the entire team are composed of Latin immigrants who work hard to bring a piece of Latin America to Canada.
Located in Etobicoke, Sombrero Latin Foods offer 350+ authentic products from Mexico, South America and the Caribbean, many of them made locally by other immigrant-owned business. Their products include spices, sauces, tortillas, cream, cheese, coffee, chocolate, sodas and many others.
The company was founded in 2014 as a wholesaler and originally, home delivery wasn't part of their business plan. Still, with many Latin American restaurants closing due to the pandemic, they had to find new ways to expand their business, so they started offering delivery across Canada.
Their delivery venture was successful and now, Sombrero Latin Food has been delivering exciting flavours nationwide for over a year. The company discovered how enriching it is to have direct contact with customers and they enjoy hearing what their customers are planning to cook or whom they are planning to surprise with treats.
"I like very much empowering people to cook Latin American dishes at home. Sombrero makes people travel from their kitchens and allows them to try new things from the comfort of their homes," says Corina Pardo, business development for the company.
Canadians and Torontonians strive to find the most authentic food experiences and Sombrero Latin Foods allows them to experience the authentic flavours that remind them of their travels to Latin America or their home countries. "It's a joy for us to take Canadians (native or not) on a taste journey, that is and will continue to be our motivation every day," Pardo says.
Sombrero Latin Foods is located at 341 Bering Ave, Etobicoke, ON, and is open to the public Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pickup and delivery are available through their website and through popular ordering platforms.
