The Lobster Roll has reopened just a few steps away from their original location in Kensington Market.
Since the summer of 2020, founder Kathleen Meade has been serving up East Coast-style lobster rolls on Baldwin Street, before closing in November with plans to open back up in a brand new space. This time around, Meade decided to partner up with her brother Kevin.
“We had planned to have both a shop and a mobile unit but COVID-19 restrictions put a stop to that for now,” said Meade.
However, this hasn’t stopped the two Moncton natives from doing what they do best––doling out fresh and delicious lobster rolls where the lobster takes centre stage.
Chunks of MSC-certified lobster from New Brunswick are tossed in a light coating of real mayonnaise, pepper and a little bit of celery, before it’s all stuffed in a split-top Betty’s bun.
“I just know what I grew up on and how I like to eat my lobster roll,” Meade said.
The lobster roll is the only item on the menu for now, but they’ll be introducing a new roll very soon.
The Lobster Roll is currently open Thursday to Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. and is located at 160 Baldwin Street.
