The Green Wood opens its second location on King West

Brunch lovers, take note: The Green Wood just opened up a new location at 461 King Street West, so west end folks can get their fix of locally-focused and sustainably-sourced eats.

This beloved Leslieville institution has been going strong since 2017, serving the community Mediterranean-style weekday fare and delicious weekend brunch (with a creative cocktail list to boot). Last summer they had teased at the possibility of a new spot on their Instagram, which has definitely kept us waiting in anticipation. The restaurant’s opening of a second location solidifies the success of their first and the desire to expand and serve the opposite end of the city.

Housed in a red brick building, the restaurant is offering breakfast and lunch during daytime hours from Monday to Friday, as well as a brunch menu until 4 p.m. on weekends and dinner every night of the week from 5-10 p.m.

With a new location comes several welcome additions to the menu. For breakfast, a delightfully healthy gluten-free, granola-topped smoothie bowl. For dinner, dishes like falafel, grilled lemon trout, chicken kabobs with red pepper chutney and paprika braised short ribs. All of the menus include a considerable selection of vegan and vegetarian options, so there’s something for everyone.

Make sure to stop by this weekend to enjoy mouthwatering brunch options like their famous shakshuka and tahini-drizzled souk fries, or stop by for a date night to try their made-to-share dinner menu. Welcome to the west end, Green Wood!
