Founded in 2018 by Serina Shi and Nigel Schwartz, The Daily Dumpling Wonton Co. is a local business providing Torontonians with authentic handmade Shanghainese wontons. Sourcing quality local and imported ingredients and using family recipes, this high-end dumpling company's mission is to bring a traditional Shanghainese comfort food to Toronto.
The popular dumpling company just announced that their new location on Bloor and Spadina is officially open. The fast-serve counter will have all of their usual offerings including both fresh and frozen wontons filled with classic pork and mustard greens, beef and celery, shrimp and pork with chives or shiitake mushrooms, lobster and chicken with squash and corn. They also have vegan dumplings filled with spinach, shiitake and pine nuts!
Top your fresh wontons with either a ginger soy or peanut sauce, or get it street style in a seaweed based soup with dried shrimp and scallions. They also sell their signature sauces in pre-packaged jars for you take home!
The shop is also currently offering sweet custard buns, BBQ pork buns and steamed vegan buns with bok choy and shiitake mushrooms.
The Daily Dumpling's new shop is located at 750 Spadina Ave and is open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
