Do Mondays tend to get you down? Avoid the feeling next week, with a Bakers Box curated by With Warm Welcome. A community organization that supports Asian Americans and Canadians in the culinary field, With Warm Welcome has worked with some of the city’s top talents on its first Toronto-based box.

Now available for purchase on TockWith Warm Welcome’s Bakers Box Vol. 16 is a treasure trove of goodies from across Toronto. Each box includes 18 sweets from 18 local culinary stars. The baked goods are, “a delicious medium showcasing emerging and established Asian pastry people,” says the organization. To date, the project has, “celebrated a total of 270 individuals across 15 cities.”

A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the organization's first Canadian Bakers Box will go toward the Canadian Multicultural Council -- Asians in Ontario. The Toronto-based non-profit is, as described on its website, "a non-political umbrella organization of more than twenty Asian Canadian associations representing various Asian countries and cultures.” Through its work, the CMC aims to promote Asian heritage and culture within Canada.

Among the participating bakers in Bakers Box Vol. 16, customers will find Brigitte Tran, Christopher Siu, Junelle Casalan and Stephanie Duong. Their contributions, respectively, range from Ube Cheesecake squares and a Tang Yuen Cookie to a Nutmeg Custard Cookie and a limited-edition Hojicha Maple Blondie filled with salted caramel and topped with maple ganache and caramelized cocoa nibs. “We’re over the moon to be featured alongside 17 Toronto talents in the pastry community,” says Stephanie Duong on Roselle Desserts’ Instagram page.

Boxes retail for $100 (USD) each and will be available for pickup on September 19 at Raku, at 456 Queen Street West. The organization's next stop? A Vancouver-based Baker's Box Vol. 17 is already in the works, and will be available on October 30.
