Several St. Lawrence Market vendors are consolidating and offering home delivery to Toronto and parts of the GTA through a new e-commerce service, Shop Local Markets.

The new online market offers a variety of fresh produce, prepared foods, dried goods, cheese and deli items from family-owned merchants including Pasta Mia, Ponesse Foods, Scheffler's Delicatessen & Cheese and St. Urbain Bagel.
Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the market has seen a significant drop in foot traffic due to reduced hours and social distancing protocols.
Although a number of vendors currently offer home delivery or curbside pickup, Shop Local Markets allows shoppers to mix and match products from a variety of vendors.
The orders are then packed together and delivered right to your door -- safe and contactless!
Every purchase made, directly supports family-run businesses that are struggling to stay afloat during this time; the market does not take any commissions from orders.
“The St. Lawrence Market has been an integral part of Toronto for over 200 years. We want to continue the tradition of shopping at the local market during this time,” says Amy, whose family has operated a store in the market for over 10 years. "We wanted to do our part to help the local merchants who have seen a decline in sales but still have to pay rent [and] insurance."
Initiatives such as the Shop Local Markets are helping connect Torontonians with fresh, locally sourced food, while contributing to small businesses.
