Sonnen Hill Brewing and Pasta Forever are having a party — and everyone's invited

In a coming together of two fan-favourite local businesses, Caledon's Sonnen Hill Brewing is collaborating with Toronto joint Pasta Forever to host a three-course pasta dinner on Jan. 21.

Each ticket for the pasta night will include a welcome pint, a 750 ml bottle of Something New or Riesling Beer and a three-course meal prepared by the loving hands of the folks over at Pasta Forever. There are two limited-space timeslots, one at 5 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m. While booking, you may choose either the veggie meal or the one with meat. The meals would be served in a communal setting on long harvest tables. Tickets for the pasta night are available here and are $80 each.

Sonnen Hill believes in brewing high-quality, easy-drinking beer without excessive alcohol content. It produces a variety of pale ales, lagers and even mixed-fermentation beers such as saisons and grisettes. All their products use local ingredients and focus on natural fermentation techniques using cultures from the environment.

It's not your typical brewery setting that features interiors straight out of an industrial warehouse with mustached hipsters at its helm. This family-owned and -operated business resides on a 37-acre farm with a few hundred fruit trees that will be used to make beer in the coming years. Also present is a vegetable garden and a bunch of beehives. In a true conservationist approach, the folks over at Sonnen Hill are committed to restoring the land to help create a nice habitat for the wildlife around them — and brew delicious beer, of course.

Keeping with the theme of small, owner-operated businesses, Pasta Forever started as a pandemic-born side hustle for Jessica Maiorano. Soon, she started making a name for herself through her creations — uncommon pasta shapes like the candy-shaped caramelle or the ornately-designed corzetti.

Since then, Pasta Forever has moved into its brick-and-mortar location in the Little Portugal neighbourhood, offering delivery and pick-up services. The storefront partly acts as a to-go food space and also as a grocery store serving homemade staples like compound butters and sauces as well as other curated Italian products.

And that's not all that Maiorano offers through her business. She also holds pasta-making classes, both online and in-person, as well as hosts private in-store dinners for the ones seeking an intimate evening with their near and dear ones in a cozy store. Prices for the dinner vary from $95/person for four courses to $110/person for five, for a party of 6-8 people.

Taking the family over at Sonnen Hill which takes their craft very seriously and pairing them with the one-woman show that is Pasta Forever, the patrons are in for a grand feast. That is exactly the kind of night that this event promises, with the additional advantage of meeting like-minded people owing to the communal way of seating.

Pasta Night, a collaboration between Sonnen Hill Brewing and Pasta Forever, will take place from 5 p.m. onwards on Jan. 21 at Sonnen Hill Brewing located at 20727 Heart Lake Road in Caledon. Tickets cost $80/person and can be purchased here.
