Ghost kitchens have gained popularity during the pandemic and now Prohibition Social House -- formerly known as Prohibition Gastrohouse, has brought to life their own pop-up called Riverside Smokehouse.
Riverside Smokehouse has been operating since December 2020 at 696 Queen East and offers a pitmaster curated menu with in-house rubs and sauces. Smoked fresh daily, they use Certified US Prime and locally sourced ingredients.
The menu centres around barbecue staples like their beef brisket, a 12-hour hickory-smoked brisket in homemade Kansas-style bbq sauce. They also offer BBQ pulled pork, St Louis-style pork ribs, BBQ sausage and wings. All orders are served with the classic Southern sides -- coleslaw, cornbread and fries.
To go along with the rest of the menu, they even have created a brisket poutine that comes with pulled brisket with cheese curds and homemade gravy topped with chives.
The game night BBQ platter combo is perfect for lockdown weekends. It serves four people and includes beef brisket, BBQ pulled pork, St Louis-style pork ribs, BBQ sausage -- half a pound of each, served with a large order of fries, coleslaw and four orders of cornbread.
Riverside Smokehouse is open every day from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or until sold out.
