Channeling everything we love about the season of sun, Bar Mignonette and Florette are collaborating on a “post-summer solstice” tasting menu that'll be available for one evening only.
On Sunday, June 26, Bar Mignonette will be serving a special 5-course menu created in collaboration with Florette (formerly Nuit Social). In addition to highlighting the best flavours summer has to offer, this one-night event will give visitors a sneak peek of what to expect at Florette when they finally open their doors this July.
Hosted above Patois inside the jade, “tropical oasis” of Mignonette, the prix fixe menu will bring together two restaurants that know how to use their seasonal ingredients in elegant ways, plus a dash of whimsy from Florette’s “funky food and cocktails” philosophy.
For $75, guests will enjoy the entire 5-course menu, starting with some beautiful appetizers like the Melon Salad with chartreuse-compressed cantaloupe, fresh cheese, mint, and aguachile.
After opening your appetite, the Fresh Sardines with heirloom tomato, sakura shrimp, and ajo crema will set you in the right direction for the rest of the evening.
For your primi, enjoy every spoon of the Mushroom Anolini in an umami-filled truffle and porcini miso brodo.
Also on the menu are Oysters with Mignonette, Toasted Sourdough with uni butter and toasted shrimp roe, Roasted Lamb Saddle with lamb jus, and for dessert—Macerated Cherries with whipped yogurt and lavender crumble.
The tasting menu also comes with a wine pairing option, plus other fun cocktails with another world of flavours.
Savour those early summer evenings at Bar Mignonette and Florette’s post-summer solstice tasting menu next Sunday, June 26 on the second floor of 794 Dundas St. W. There’s limited seating at this one-night event, so make sure to get your tickets fast.
