After a successful launch in the US and UK earlier this year, Canadians can now look forward to venturing to their local liquor store to get their hands on Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum recording artist Post Malone's highly-anticipated wine: Maison No. 9.
Named after the artist's favourite tarot card––Nine of Swords, which symbolizes triumph over life’s daily challenges––the idea to create this French Méditerranée rosé was founded by Post Malone, alongside his manager Dre London and James Morrissey of Global Brand Equities, just before the 61st Grammy Awards. The trio bonded over their affinity for French wine and discussed a vineyard in the South of France that Morrissey said was producing the most incredible rosé he had ever tasted.
Newly inspired, only 10 days later, they dashed off to the French Riviera to sample grapes and worked closely with multi award-winning Provence winemaker Alexis Cornu to bring their plans into fruition. After taking multiple trips overseas and tasting over 100 blends of rosé, they finally landed on the perfect one.
Exclusively distributed by E. & J. Gallo Winery, Maison No. 9 has a soft pink hue accompanied by the aroma of freshly picked fruits like ripe pineapple, pear and strawberry with hints of sweet French desserts once uncorked. It's a blend of 45 per cent Grenache Noir, 25 per cent Cinsault, 15 per cent Syrah and 15 per cent Merlot, giving it a clean, dry and crisp finish. Presented in a sleek, slender and sustainable all-glass bottle, it's even topped with a solid glass cap shaped into battlements that mirror a medieval castle, fitting to Post Malone's brand, which also happens to be located near the vineyard itself.
Post Malone says, “Rosé is for when you want to get a little fancy," and that definitely comes through in its design.
Already soaking up the accolades in the world of wine, when it was first released in June 2020 in the US through online wine platform Vivino, the company saw 50,000 bottles sold in just 48 hours, making it the fastest-selling launch of a wine product in history. In addition to that, a limited release in the UK in December 2020 saw the wine sell out in just five days, all this goes to say that Canadians are just as eager to get their hands on a bottle as well. Launched on June 12th, just in time for National Rosé day, you can now try and get your hands on a fancy bottle to enjoy on its own or even get creative with cocktail combinations.
Summer just got "better now" that Maison No. 9 has made it to Canada. Soak up the sun while sipping some bubbly and pretend you're in "Saint Tropez" beside Posty with his new French Méditerranée rosé.
