The highly successful smash burger pop-up recently opened a west-end brick-and-mortar location just across the street from the legendary Sneaky Dee’s (whose future is now in question following announced plans to demolish the entire block to make room for condos).
The former pop-up occupied 881 Yonge Street, just north of Bloor and Yonge, until the end of June, at which point they announced plans to open up their very own spot. Since August 24, Happy Burger has once again been serving up its signature smash burgers and hot dogs, with additional toppings that include pastrami and bacon atop soft potato buns. They also prepare vegan burgers, chicken sandwiches, corn dogs, Cajun waffle fries and waffle fries poutine.
Happy Burger continues to thrive off of Toronto’s smash burger craze, having sold out of its daily stock like other popular smash spots such as Extra Burger, Aunty Lucy’s and RUDY. With a mission to “serve up smash burgers & dogs -- the happy way,” it looks like this new favourite spot is here to stay despite neighbourhood real estate uncertainty.
Happy Burger is located at 76 Lippincott Street and is available for takeout on DoorDash and Uber Eats.
