One of Montreal's most famous shawarma spots has made its way to Toronto.
Boustan is a local Montreal chain that has been expanding like crazy across the city since 1986. With over 36 locations in the area, this new shop in Toronto will mark its first venture in the GTA.
A Lebanese fast-casual restaurant, Boustan is most famous for their shawarma wraps and addictive garlic sauce. They have an expansive menu and a reputation for massive portion sizes for affordable prices.
They do a number of Middle Eastern classics like, shawarma, kofta and falafel. They're typically stuffed into pitas, but you can also get them on rice plates that are piled high as well. They also serve dishes like dolmades, which are vine leaves stuffed with rice and herbs, and kibbeh, which are Lebanese style beef croquettes. You also aren't allowed to leave without having a plate of their garlic potatoes, which are seasoned fried potatoes served with their famous garlic sauce.
The first location of Boustan in Toronto is located at 2072 Lawrence Avenue East in Scarborough. This new location opened several weeks ago but it certainly won't be the last. They are planning expansion across the Greater Toronto region with a second location at York Mills already in the works. Be sure to check it out for a taste of what makes it so popular in Montreal.
