A wildly popular Middle Eastern restaurant food group recently released a new ghost kitchen concept serving KFC-style fried chicken -- and it's completely halal.
Paramount Fine Foods rolled out Krispo Chicken at 7 of their locations across Toronto and the GTA. Unlike the authentic Middle Eastern flavours the restaurant is known for, Krispo Chicken offers soul-satisfying comfort food inspired by the flavours and culinary traditions of the South.
Paramount's new "cloud kitchen concept" takes an inventive and contemporary twist on classic fried chicken and Southern comfort food favourites. Krispo Chicken focuses on sourcing quality local, farm-fresh ingredients and features 100% Halal ingredients in the tradition of all Paramount Fine Foods brands.
"Krispo Chicken [was created] with the Halal community in mind. We wanted to provide them with a great tasting halal option, to satisfy their fried-chicken cravings. We are in unprecedented times, and Krispo Chicken truly offers soul satisfying comfort food, at a time when people need it the most," says Mohamad Fakih, founder and CEO of Paramount Fine Foods restaurant group.
The menu includes boxes and buckets of fried chicken, a Wicked Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, jalapeno cornbread, pickles and coleslaw, regular fries and waffle fries. For desserts, Krispo Chicken is offering housemade apple blossom desserts and deep fried mars bars.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how the restaurant industry operates. We had to find alternative ways of using our restaurant space, at a time when many dining rooms are closed. The opening of Krispo Chicken, a virtual cloud kitchen, produces additional growth in revenue and allows us to share our unique take on a traditional meal," he continues.
Krispo Chicken is available for online ordering, takeout and delivery at 7 Paramount locations across Toronto and the GTA.
