Popular Leslieville brunch spot temporarily closes after employee tests positive for COVID-19

A popular brunch post in Toronto's east end has closed temporarily after an employee tests positive for COVID-19.

Maha's, known for their distinct Egyptian brunch fare, announced on their Instagram yesterday that a fellow employee has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The employee last worked at the restaurant on October 18th from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Although no one else is currently experiencing symptoms, as a precaution, the entire team will be tested and is currently in self-isolation.

In the meantime, the restaurant will be professionally sanitized and is closed for the time being. Maha's has ensured their loyal guests that the team is taking every measure possible to ensure everyone's safety. The restaurant will remain closed until the entire team receives a clean bill of health and will only reopen when they feel it is safe to do so.

It is encouraged that any patrons who dined at Maha's on October 18 also be tested. The restaurant is keeping their Instagram inbox open for any one who might have any questions or concerns.
