One of Kensington Market's most bustling taquerias, Tacos Gus, has just announced the opening of a new location in Parkdale.
The addition marks the restaurant's third outpost. The taqueria opened a second location back in the spring of 2020 at Bloor and Dufferin following the success of the original restaurant in Kensington Market.
The taco joint is known for its traditional Mexican flavours, as co-owners and cousins, Emilio Morales and Augustine Morales, intended to replicate an authentic Mexican taqueria here in Toronto.
Similar to the original Kensington menu, you'll find a wide selection of proteins including, asada, barbacoa, camaron, carnitas, chilorio, pastor, pescado and pollo, and a mushroom or queso option for non-meat eaters -- all available to order as a burrito, taco, quesadilla, chilaca or torta.
Tacos Gus shared the exciting news via Instagram last week and officially opened this past weekend on Saturday, April 17.
"We are super excited to be a part of the Parkdale community and can't wait to meet all of you!" reads the restaurant's Instagram post.
The expansion to the west end comes as exciting news for the neighbourhood, as taquerias and Mexican restaurants are limited in the area besides beloved taco joint Grand Electric.
The new Tacos Gus is located at 1533 Queen St. W. and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
