NODO, a popular Italian spot that first opened in the Junction, has announced they will be opening their fourth Toronto location in the heart of Liberty Village.
Meaning 'knot or junction' in Italian, NODO has taken over the old Williams Landing location up on the second floor of the First Capital building. The decision to open up in the trendy residential neighbourhood was an easy one, due to Liberty Village being known as a lively and captive audience. The team wants to offer something elevated that the neighbourhood doesn't have right now for pizza and pasta. Their new location is slated to open sometime in end of May or early June. However, they have plans to start takeout in the next two weeks.
Made up of four partners, Charlie Giordano, Vito Tomasicchio, Gianmarco Dezorzi and Anthony Rubino, they all had their eye on Liberty Village for a while. The first three partners were high school classmates and started off in the food and beverage industry as busboys, eventually working their way up to open a restaurant serving their favourite cuisine.
This new location will have the capacity to seat 450 people, which includes seating over 200 people on their patio. Giordano shared they have a goal of being within different neighbourhoods throughout the city that are known for their character. This location will be the same menu with their appetizers, pizza and pasta with plans to offer different items as they move forward.
NODO is known for their fresh and approachable menu that offers a wide variety of regional dishes from Italy. Something they take pride in is their Arancini, which is shaped into a 'Sicilian style' cone that their customers can't get enough of. Another unique item on their menu is their homemade pan-seared gnocchi, which gives the pasta a little bit of a bite along with the luscious, pillowy texture diners know and love. This gnocchi is paired with wild mushroom, truffle-garlic cream, grana padano and diced tri-colour peppers. They also carry over 20 different pizzas that you don't want to miss out on.
All of the NODO locations offer private dining for 10-15 people and this will be expanded at the Liberty Village location, allowing for 60 people for private dining. The Liberty Village location will soon start offering take-out in the next few weeks. You can find the new location at 120 Lynn Williams Street in the heart of Liberty Village.
