With indoor dining restricted for at least another 28 days and curb lane patios being removed to make room for winter snow clearing, Toronto restaurants are forced to improvise, adapt and overcome the challenges brought on by the ongoing pandemic yet again.
CANO, a popular Italian restaurant on St. Clair just transformed their back alley into a cozy patio equipped with heating lamps, lush greenery and string lights.
The back lot was formerly used as a storage space for the restaurant but has since been revamped into a snug patio with warm and welcoming backyard vibes.
The new space has 9 tables and can accommodate up to 24 guests. Although the patio currently isn't covered, Chef and owner, Adam Pereira assures us that they are working on installing an overhead sunroof early next week.
As we stare down the barrel of another lockdown, it is important that we support our small local businesses in any way we can. Be it braving the cold and enjoying a meal on one of the many outdoor heated patios across the city or ordering in dinner and a bottle of wine, we need to help out the local shops and restaurants that make up our vibrant city.
CANO is open for takeout and dinner service on their back and sidewalk patios from Tuesday to Sunday starting at 5 p.m.
