There's a brand new entrant to the fried chicken sandwich game, and it may be the wildest one yet.

Chef Johnson Wu, of Bar Le Germain at the upscale Hotel Le Germain, is launching a brand new Asian-inspired menu dubbed Wusian Fusian. The new pop-up features dishes like Taiwanese Braised Pork Poutine, Umami Noodles and a Fried Chicken Sandwich with a fully deboned stuffed chicken wing.

"Over this pandemic, I've been doing a lot of my own cooking with this newfound appreciation and drive. It was a newfound passion I hadn't felt in a while, to be honest. And now that I've gone full circle back to my roots, I'm lucky enough to have a company like Le Germain Hotels take note of some of the things I've been cooking and support me in this new adventure," says chef Wu.

The dish being highlighted at this launch is the Stuffed Wing Fried Chicken Sammich. One of the craziest chicken sandwiches you can get in the city, chef Wu fully debones the wing and stuffs it with kimchi fried rice, while still fully attached to the breast. It's seasoned with his signature Wusian Hot Sauce, consisting of a mango base, Scotch bonnet peppers and chocolate habaneros. Served on a brioche bun and topped with pickled slaw and garlic mayo.

The menu launch will include snack items like a Five Spiced Popcorn Chicken, KBBQ Pork Belly and Kimchi Fries. You can order rice bowls, noodle bowls, chicken wings and other chicken sandwiches as well.

The launch will be tomorrow, Tuesday, January 19. You can order directly through the restaurant or on Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes.
