Popular cookie shop opens new location on Dundas West

One of Toronto's favourite cookie shops, Courage Cookies, has just opened a new location in the city last week and have already been embraced within the community.

Courage Cookies started off as a passion project come to life as a result of the pandemic. When owners Chelsea Harty and Ian Moores lost work at the onset of Covid, they decided to take up baking. After praise from family and friends, they took it on full-time. After hopping around various production spaces, including Mascot Brewery and Stackt Market, the duo settled in this new locale in Brockton Village.

"Once we realized our 3 month pop up wasn’t going to end there, we started looking for a place to call home... a kitchen of our own," they said. "We looked for a year before finding 1561 Dundas Street West."

Now, they have the brick and mortar location they've been dreaming of since they started this concept.

They are popular for their creative takes on their cookies, with flavours like Stuffed Red Velvet, Nutella S'mores, Brown Butter Rice Krispies, and more. The cookies are massive and can be stacked up high. They also make gluten-free and vegan cookies as well.

Additionally, they donate a portion of their sales to support those in need and have been able to donate more than $45,000 back to the community and overseas as well. The week of Christmas, they'll be looking to feed over 300 people experiencing food insecurity around the holidays by putting together meal kits and dropping them off at their homes.

You can find Courage Cookies' new location at 1561 Dundas Street West. They're open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. until they sell out––around 7 p.m. usually. Be sure to go out and enjoy some cookies while supporting a good cause.
