New this year, Pizzeria Libretto will be celebrating the season with 12 Days of Pizza beginning on December 26. Featuring creative pies boasting clever combos of unconventional toppings, each day of the event promises to tempt diners with something exciting and new.
A place that originally brought authentic Neapolitan pizza to Ossington Avenue in 2008, Pizzeria Libretto has grown to include five locations spread across the city. For the holiday season, chef Rocco Agostino has created a dozen delightful pizzas topped with a flurry of avant-garde ingredients. Each available for one night only, the novel pizzas are as fleeting as the holidays themselves.
Taking place at all Pizzeria Libretto locations, the 12 Days of Pizza begins on December 26 with the Croque Madame, a pizza laden with a suitable amount of panna, caramelized onions, mozzarella and Gruyère. In the days that follow, diners can dig into Shrimp Diavola, Prosciutto and Pear, Roasted Mushroom pizza and more. For New Year’s Eve, the team will be making Potato Chip pizza, featuring Gorgonzola cream, truffle paste, fior di latte, Gruyère, potato chips and chives. Paired with $30 bottles of bubbly, there’s no finer way to toast to the year’s end.
On January 1, the Pizzeria Libretto team welcomes 2023 with Meatball pizzas loaded with meatballs, fior di latte, mozzarella, cheddar, jalapeño and pickled red onions. From there on in, diners can enjoy five more days of chewy, blistered, wood-fired pies as varied as a BLT stunner with bacon lardons and green goddess aioli, to a BBQ Chicken pizza with roasted red pepper sauce, scarmoza, pickled onion, bacon and Libretto sugo bbq sauce that chef Agostino may have to add to the regular rotation.
