Pilot Coffee Roasters have just opened their 8th location in Toronto. What started as a love affair for great coffee at Leslieville coffee shop, Te Aro back in 2009, has grown into an iconic local obsession better known as Pilot Coffee Roasters. Over the last 11 years, Pilot Coffee Roasters and their signature paper plane have become a coffee shop synonymous with the incredible growing coffee culture in Toronto. They have received international acclaim both for their coffee and as a place to work, and were the 2014 Micro Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine.
Pilot Coffee Roasters newest spot is located at 439 Richmond Street West (just west of Spadina). The cafe is housed in a small space, with only 10 seats but has still maintained all the details that made the original location such a hit -- white walls, simple furniture, light wood and of course delicate accents of their signature yellow shade.
Pilot Coffee Roasters pride themselves on having "a passion for great coffee with a commitment to quality," and like any great place to work "they want to roast great coffee while working with great people." Pilot Coffee Roasters -- unlike most -- apply an exceptional level of care when sourcing their beans. They have shown Torontonians that choosing a spectacular coffee bean requires as many classifications as choosing a perfect diamond -- from tasting notes, to sliding scale, to roasting date, all the way to the specific reserve. You can find out more about coffee bean grading on their FAQ page. Pilot Coffee Roasters' founders Andy and Jessie Wilkin continue to bring comfort, simplicity and delicious coffee everywhere they go.
