This Ossington Strip restaurant just opened a local outdoor market

If you're familiar with the Ossington Strip, you surely know Union restaurant. The neighbourhood outpost is home to local ingredients, an eclectic, meat-centric menu and the best back patio out there (that we miss dearly).

Like many restaurants that typically rely on the experience of dining-in, Union, like many others, has been in a difficult position over the past several months -- busy adapting along the way in the hopes of staying afloat, keeping their staff and staying true to who they are.

Union

"Our team has been sharing hours, supporting each other, creating, and collaborating, to create something new but still wholly Union at its core. While our Union family fuels these efforts, we'd be unable to do what we do 7 days a week if not for our incredible neighbours, regulars, friends, and every guest who has continued to share in what we do," the restaurant explains.

And now, in addition to gracing us with the fortune of enjoying their dishes from our homes, they've decided to grace us with a new offering. Every weekend in December (Fridays-Sundays, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.), they will be hosting an outdoor market. The restaurant says the market is "all about showcasing what [they] do -- supporting local farmers and producers, and offering classic union staples for people to enjoy at home. [They'll] be serving up hot apple cider and grilled homemade sausages on a bun, union provisions, gifts, and wine, as well as a special holiday dinner home cook box."

They're still offering their full takeout menu as well, so take a look if you're in the mood for one of their breakfast sandwiches, crispy polenta or a juicy burger. Check them out at 72 Ossington Ave.
