Order burgers and cheesecake at this restaurant's one year anniversary

One of Toronto's go-to spots for smash burgers is celebrating their one year anniversary this weekend at their location in the Annex Hotel. Aunty Lucy's Burgers is celebrating this milestone by collaborating with Cheesekaekes, a home business founded by Mikaela Malcolm, who is most known for her successful line of mini cheesecakes.

For this weekend only -- from this Friday, June 4 to Monday, June 7, Aunty Lucy's is offering three different mini cheesecake options from Cheesekaekes for pick-up. Look forward to selecting from white chocolate macadamia nut, peach cobbler and chocolate coffee. All small in size yet bold in flavour, these cheesecakes are the perfect bite-sized treat topped with additional sweets to make them the ideal dessert to accompany a few helpings of burgers and fries.

After their humble beginnings as a pop-up in Parkdale, the duo behind Aunty Lucy's -- Chieff Bosompra and Adrian Forte -- quickly secured a permanent location in the Annex Hotel and even popped up on the east side of the city in Leslieville briefly. Their menu features various cultural influences, most-dominantly highlighting Ghanian culture. On the menu, beyond their popular selection of smash burgers like the Kumasi Burger and the Accra Burger, find the Nima Sandwich, which has a boneless battered chicken thigh, garlic sauce and mango Scotch bonnet hot sauce held together by a potato roll.

Also, find plenty of vegetarian-friendly options and delicious sides like Kelewele, which is fried plantain and Jollof Rice, a medley of rice, tomatoes and spices.

Join in on the celebration of Aunty Lucy's Burgers by dropping by the Annex Hotel at 296 Brunswick Ave. this weekend and adding a couple of mini cheesecakes to your order while you're there.
