Nani's Gelato, one of Toronto's most popular gelato shops recently announced on Instagram that they will be opening a new location in Mississauga.
Launching their first storefront at 6 Charles Street East in May of 2020 after operating out of a food truck for two years, this expansion will give the team access to a much larger production space, enabling them to increase the amount of gelato they can produce. In turn, allowing them to extend their hours next summer, as they'll be able to keep up with the demand.
Set to open at the end of September, the only big change made from the customer perspective is that all gelato deliveries are being put on pause until they can get the new facility up and running. Other than that, Nani's Gelato's downtown Toronto location will still remain open.
Created by owner Parry Sohi, who leads gelato production, Nani's Gelato is known for their rotating line-up of flavours you often can't find anywhere else in the city. With the help of his co-gelato chef Christie Lai, the duo incorporates Asian, Indian and Italian influences into their flavours, with between 8-10 available at a time in store and rotate approximately every two weeks.
Past creations include raspberry sorbetto soft serve made using Ontario produce, pistachio ricotta kulfi made for Eataly's 'Gelato Summer Scoop Series' and one of their best-sellers, Punjabi milk cake.
You'll be able to find Nani's Gelato at 6039 Erin Mills Parkway in Mississauga really soon. Until then, be sure to follow them on Instagram for updates on when they'll officially be able to open their doors, as well as discover details about their grand opening event, launching soon.
