One of the world’s best Greek restaurants is getting ready to open in Toronto.
Estiatorio Milos, which first opened in Montreal in 1979, was founded by chef and owner Costas Spiliadis.
Now, the chain is present in major cities that include U.S. cities New York, which is home to three locations including the Milos Wine Bar; Miami and Las Vegas; Athens, Greece; London, England; Los Cabos, Mexico; and most recently, Dubai, UAE which opened this year.
Estiatorio Milos began with the simple concept of bringing fresh, authentic fish and seafood to the masses through a shared dining experience.
The restaurant was among the first to invite diners to select the seafood of their choice from an on-site fish market, as well as feature an open kitchen where guests could watch as chefs expertly prepared the meals.
To date, the seafood is sourced directly from Greece and internationally. Estiatorio Milos’ second Canadian location is set to open on Bay St. sometime in 2024, according to a liquor licence application recently filed with the city of Toronto.
An official “coming soon” announcement for the Toronto location has also been posted on the restaurant’s official website, alongside the news of a new location in Singapore, too.
While there’s no hints yet about what to expect at the Toronto location on Estiatorio Milos’ official Instagram account, diners should expect seafood-focused fare in a modern, fine dining establishment.
Menu highlights at various locations include champagne and oysters, seasoned shrimp with fresh lemon, the Milos Special (an Instagram-worthy, fried zucchini and eggplant tower with kefalograviera cheese and tzatziki) and of course, whole grilled fish done Greek-style.
