One of Canada's 100 Best restaurants is now offering takeout

The cool kid on the block when it comes to sushi bars, Skippa -- a perfect combination of modern fare and homely interiors -- is now offering takeout.

The sushi and sake bar, known for its inventive omakase and tendency to gravitate towards lesser known fish (salmon and tuna are not the showstoppers here) announced via Instagram their new limited takeout offerings.

The restaurant is offering curated bento boxes for curbside pickup on the weekends. The availability is limited and people are asked to reserve a spot ahead of time by emailing info@skippa.ca.

The menu changes on a weekly basis, with a handful of add-ons you can choose from when ordering your own box. On offer this week is a bento box for $45 consisting of clay pot rice with scallop and mitsuba, bamboo and asparagus with Japanese Wagyu beef and spring spinach with sesame. As well as a sakana box for $45 consisting of Japanese tuna roll, five varieties of wild fish on sushi rice, tamago and fresh wasabi and ginger. You can also order a seasonal dessert, a cook-at-home maitake mushroom kit and a selection of sake, wine and beer.

The extravagant meal comes in a sleek wood box with a personal menu included.
