Walk through the Mile End in Montreal and immediately, you will be confronted with a choice. Fairmount Bagel or St-Viateur Bagel -- just a stone's throw away from one another, the two distinct shops offer up a choice. The rival bagel shops are constantly pitted against one another of whom holds the reigning title of best Montreal-style bagel and the divide is stark. When asked your preference, wishy-washy answers are not accepted, camps are clearly defined and yes, my preferred choice is delivering to Toronto.

After initially announcing their reduced hours and additional safety protocols due to COVID-19, St-Viateur will now also be offering delivery...to Toronto! Orders can be placed on their website or by phone from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m and the delivery timeframe is 1-3 days. St-Viateur promises that 99% of shipments arrive within 48 hours of the bagels leaving the wood-burning ovens. A selection of bagels including sesame, poppyseed and all dressed are available to order, as well as a build-your-own bagel box and a selection of merchandise. Minimum order is 2 two dozen bagels and shipping costs roughly around $16.
