Caribbean eatery Miss Likklemore’s Kitchen and Bar recently opened its doors at the space formerly occupied by Convenience Bar -- a spot also currently shared by JAM Cereal on the weekends. The new venture comes from the same owners of Convenience (which remains temporarily closed for the foreseeable future) and nearby Queen West hot spot The Good Son.
The menu proudly features “all original recipes [that] are passed down from our Aunties, Grannies, and Mums,” with courses like “First Ting,” “Side Ting,” and “Main Ting,” as well as a “Likkle More” section for desserts and family-style meals like the Sunday Dinner signature dish.
Almost all of the apps and sides are vegan or vegetarian, with inspired twists like plantain chips as the base of their Toco-Loco Nachos and Garnet yams in the potato salad.
Cocktails like the “Freshie” with sorrel and muddled blackberries channel the flavours of the Caribbean islands, while the “Hot Gyal” incorporates a homemade hot sauce and solidifies the restaurant’s mission to make everything in house “with nuff love and our own likkle twist."
Miss Likklemore’s is open Wednesday to Sunday from 4 p.m. until close and is now available for takeout on Uber Eats.
