After launching this past January on Queen Street West, Midori Ramen never got the chance to welcome guests in to celebrate their arrival in Toronto. Now that the city is opening up again, this Saturday, July 31, Midori Ramen is hosting the night market-style grand opening they never got to have, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In order to thrive during lockdowns as a new restaurant only open for takeout and delivery, you may recognize and already be a fan of Midori Ramen as a result of their popular frozen ramen kits.
Midori Ramen specializes in tori paitan ramen, a chicken broth-based ramen and is led by chef Masaru Ogasawara and chef Natsuhiko Sugimoto. They use fresh ingredients resulting in bold flavours, especially combined with their rich and creamy broth.
With the transition into indoor dining, Midori Ramen also has a specially designed patio space for you to enjoy with their rich, creamy ramen in hand.
Since this grand opening is night market-style, expect lots of fun prizes to be won and initiatives to take part in, happening all day. This includes the opportunity for those passing by to sample their ramen so that you can see how delicious and comforting this broth is for yourself.
The big giveaways are that the first 30 people in line will receive one free bowl of ramen, with the next 30 guests in line getting a buy one get one free deal that allows you to get one free bowl of their frozen ramen to take home, with the purchase of a bowl of fresh or frozen ramen in store.
If you miss out on these freebies, keep in mind that everyone is a winner, especially because Midori Ramen has a prize wheel you'll get to spin for your chance to win free or discounted menu items. Plus, they're even running raffles that include the ability to win free ramen for a year. You really won't want to miss out on this fun event and all its perks.
Keep in mind, despite specializing in ramen; there's more than just that on the menu. As you're exploring the space, you'll definitely notice their karaage bar, where they'll be introducing karaage bites. These crispy pieces of chicken are being accompanied by four new flavours: garlic mayo, sweet chili mayo, wasabi mayo and spicy mayo.
Midori Ramen's night market themed grand opening event is happening this Saturday, July 31, in their shop at 412 Queen Street West from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Be sure to follow them on Instagram to keep up with what will be happening and get more sneak peeks of all you'll get to take part in.
