Matty Matheson's latest venture is so much more than just a restaurant

In October 2018, Canadian chef, restaurateur and internet personality Matty Matheson welcomed a baby girl, Rizzo, into the world. Four years later, he's all set to launch another brainchild of his — an Italian restaurant named after his first daughter.

Rizzo's House of Parm, Matheson's latest creation, is about to open its doors to the people of Fort Erie looking for some classic Italian fare. While not 100% confirmed, the given date for the grand opening is provided as Nov. 2 on the internet.

The choice of location is significant, too, for it marks Matheson's homecoming. While born in New Brunswick, he lived in Nova Scotia before moving to Fort Erie, Ontario, at the age of 11.

After a long stint in Toronto, where he worked at Parts & Labour and launched multiple restaurants like Matty's Patty's Burger Club and Prime Seafood Place, it seems like the celebrity chef is ready to open his second Fort Erie venture (following Matty Matheson's Meat + Three's which closed a couple of months ago).

If his Instagram page is any proof, it seems like Matheson is beyond excited and proud to be doing the thing he loves in the city he considers home. This is not just another business venture to him, and is much more personal than that.

Having named it after his first daughter, Matheson went on to say that moving back home has been such an incredible experience for him and his family and that the entire move has given them so much to cherish and hold dearly.

Even though the menu is not readily available just yet, people can expect classic home-cooked Italian fares like spaghetti bolognese and chicken parmigiana (if the name of the joint is any indicator.)

It is perfectly clear that the new opening means more to Matheson than his previous ventures with the inclusion of his family in various ways. Even the tagline of the restaurant is very family oriented: "Homemade Italian food, from our family to yours." One can only assume that the extra love and care will also be translated into the food being served.

Chef Matty Matheson' Rizzo's House of Parm is set to open on Nov. 2 at 2 Ridgeway Road in Fort Erie, Ontario. To keep up to date with all information, keep an eye out on the spot's Instagram page.
