Matt's Smokehouse, a Toronto-based barbecue pop-up, has found a new home in the Little Italy neighbourhood.
The barbecue joint previously operated out of TuckShop in the heart of the Junction Triangle, and had been serving up barbecue favourites since January. Now, the team has moved to a location closer to downtown, operating out of Night Owl in Little Italy.
Matt Horowitz, the mind behind Matt's Smokehouse, began cooking barbecue in his parents' Toronto backyard. When the aroma of his signature smoked ribs and wings swept the neighbourhood streets, his backyard operation soon catapulted into a pop-up restaurant.
The joint serves up the classic barbecue staples, like smoked ribs, wings and a variety of smoked meat sandwiches. On a bun, you have the choice of pulled chicken, pulled pork or pulled brisket, which are all doused in their signature barbecue sauce and respective toppings.
Their newest addition to the menu is their 'Cup of BBQ', which features your choice of meat with three toppings––a perfect meal on the go. Additionally, you can order smoked ribs and smoked wings to create your own custom barbecue platter. Matt's also makes an array of classic barbecue sides, like their candied jalapeno and cheddar cornbread and creamy and vinegary coleslaw.
