Manita Cafe & Grocery opens on Ossington

Ossington's new kid on the block comes from the team behind popular Parkdale taco joint Grand Electric but with a totally different, neighbourhood-cafe-meets-grocery-store vibe.

Manita, which opened up a couple of weeks ago at 210 Ossington (just south of Dundas), offers coffee, groceries, drinks and more in a small, cozy corner spot. Grand Electric team Ian and Colin announced the opening through the restaurant's Instagram account, explaining that they've been working on the concept on and off for five years. Last year (and obviously, pre-COVID), they finally found their dream spot and partner to put their plan into action. They presumably experienced some difficulties opening due to the pandemic but came out the other side with the launch of Manita.

The cafe and bar is versatile, welcoming guests for coffee early in the morning, a bite at lunchtime or a relaxed dinner with drinks to sip on the side. The food menu is succinct, the lattes are stunning and the wine list is impressive, plus you can grab fresh produce, flowers and other small grocery items during your visit. Currently, Manita is offering distanced dine-in service in addition to all of their to-go items, so be sure to drop by and check out the gorgeously stylish interior of this impressive new spot.

Manita is open all day from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 10/11 p.m., so you have plenty of time to try a morning or evening bite with them!
