Mama Boost is a new local business focused on creating nourishing and delicious lactation cookies for all the nursing mamas out there, needing a little extra boost in their milk supply.
It's not easy being a nursing mother -- breastfeeding alone can feel like a full-time job. New mom and founder of Mama Boost, Christianne Corpuz, experienced the difficulties of breastfeeding firsthand. After recognizing how challenging it was to keep up with her daughter Soleil's rapid growth, she started looking for lactation products on the market but, to her dismay, found minimal options. That is when Corpuz decided to take her love for baking and, after much trial and error, created a product that would not only help give her a boost but her fellow new mama friends too.
Lactation cookies are a recent trend and of course, they aren't just any traditional cookie. These cookies are baked to help support nursing mothers by using ingredients that will help boost their breast milk supply.
Corpuz notes that moms and their babies deserve clean yet delicious cookies. As a result, Mama Boost cookies are made with organic and non-GMO ingredients, plus are loaded with oats, flaxseeds and brewers yeast. All nutritional while still being soft and gooey.
Oats help support a healthy digestive system and help control blood sugar levels, while flaxseeds are great for heart health and reduce blood pressure. The last main ingredient, brewers yeast, supports a healthy gut, aids in strengthening your immune system and can also help boost your energy levels.
After noticing the benefits from her cookies, Corpuz knew she wanted to help support other nursing moms in the same boat as her. "It truly fills my heart to be helping other mamas [on the same breastfeeding journey] and to know we aren't alone."
The current menu at Mama Boost consists of organic oat cookies that can have milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips added to them. Their signature cookie is oatmeal white chocolate chip. Can't commit to one type of chocolate? You can select two flavours for every batch.
Cookies can be enjoyed by anyone even if they aren't a breastfeeding mama, meaning they're safe for babies too.
