Local bakery, pizza joint are making heart-shaped pies to support a great cause this Valentine's Day

Queen Street Bakery is partnering with Pizzeria Via Mercanti this Valentine’s Day to serve up heart-shaped pies for an amazing cause.

As a part of their ‘Love is Love is Love’ initiative, the renowned bakery and Ontario’s top pizza joint are teaming up ahead of this weekend to dish out a novelty pizza in support of the Get Real Movement––a non-profit organization that aims to create allies and support 2SLGBTQ+, Black and marginalized youth communities.

“Whether you’re ordering the heart-shaped pizza to a friend as a surprise or enjoying it with your significant other at home, our goal is to make this Valentine’s Day as inclusive as possible,” the bakery wrote in an Instagram post.

For this week until Friday, you can call the ‘Pizza Hotline’ [833 LUV PIES] to order and reserve your heart-shaped ‘za. Pizzas can also be ordered through Uber Eats or Tock through Via Mercanti’s website.

Proceeds from all the heart-shaped pies will be donated to the charity to help continue their mission in fighting against discrimination in schools, camps and the workplace. The pizzas are made with Queen Street Bakery’s gluten-free dough, and orders will be prepped and fulfilled out of Via Mercanti’s location at 188 Augusta Avenue.
