Left Field Brewery launches new beer and new 'Beer For Everybody' beneficiary

Left Field Brewery, a Toronto-based brewer, has introduced a new beer to their lineup that honours beer fans from the opposite coast.

The ‘West Coast Swing IPA’ is a medium-bodied strong beer with hints of tangerine and ginger to balance. This beer is the latest addition to a growing list of beverages available at this beloved Leslieville brewery.

The beer is brewed using Chinook, Columbus and Simcoe hops, and is an ode to west coast-style IPAs with an ‘old-school golden glow’ and ‘pithy bitter dryness’. Packed in a compact 355 ml can, the new brew boasts an impressive 7.2 per cent ABV.

Left Field was established in April 2013 and has since built a supportive and loyal community across the country. Recently, the brewery announced that they have been certified as a living wage employer in Ontario––the fourth brewery to meet these standards in the province.

Additionally, Left Field has also aimed to support and uplift individuals and folks in their communities through partnerships with local organizations. In November 2020, the brewery launched their ‘Beer For Everybody’ initiative, which showcases and supports local causes that work to dismantle systemic inequities.

By fundraising through beer, apparel and merchandise sales, as well as using their platform in the beer community to voice the missions of these organizations, Left Field has helped raise more than $10,400 for their first beneficiary, FoodShareTO.

This spring, the brewery has brought in a new beneficiary, Black Women in Motion (BWIM), which is a youth-led organization that empowers and supports the advancement of black women and survivors of sexual violence.
