Jen Agg reopens hip wine bar for weekend takeaway

Following the citywide shutdown, notable Toronto restaurateur, Jen Agg, closed down her roster of popular restaurants and bars in hopes of slowing the spread of COVID-19. Agg initially made the difficult decision to forgo offering takeout and delivery until the situation stabilized. Agg has been vocal on maintaining physical distancing measures and upholding a moral obligation to keep the community safe.

Back in March, Agg shared her thoughts on the importance of physical distancing.

After several weeks of quarantine, Agg has chosen to open one of her properties, Bar Vendetta, for weekend takeaway.

The laid-back wine and pasta bar graced the Dundas West strip just last September and is Agg's newest venture to date. Bar Vendetta is known for its unpretentious vibe, rare low-intervention wines and an all-around good time. Although, we won't be sitting on those mod bar stools anytime soon, we can now finally get our hands on Vendetta's meat-packed muffuletta.

The online shop opens for preorders leading up to the weekend and offers pickup on Fridays and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.; delivery is also available within 48 hours. The bar is mainly operating as a wine shop but menu favourites like the muffuletta -- stuffed with thin shavings of mortadella, capocollo and sopressata, all on house focaccia -- are still on offer.

Shop a selection of natural wines by the bottle or be a little spontaneous and opt for the Wild Card Mixed 3-Pack or 6-Pack for a variety of delicious wines. You can also find batched cocktails for two, like a Manhattan or Negroni.

Purchase the Picnic (at home) Pack for $150, which includes a Bar Vendetta tote bag filled with two wines, a cocktail for two, two sandwiches and olives. Just take it somewhere else than Trinity Bellwoods Park for the sake of Ford's sanity please!
