A spot that has delighted many a blue-blooded guest since 1927, the Windsor Arms Hotel is where you’ll want to be to see King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla finally don the crown jewels. Known for its perennially elegant offerings, the Windsor Arms’ Afternoon Tea for a King is a once-in-a-lifetime event no self-respecting royalist would dare miss.
Taking place on Coronation Day, Saturday, May 6th, beginning at 1:30 p.m., the Windsor Arms’ regal tea is an exciting upgrade to the hotel's usual afternoon repast. In addition to the customary spread of savoury bites, Coronation Chicken tea sandwiches and ikura caviar will be served in honour of the commonwealth’s new king. Guests will also enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or a King Charles’ Martini, along with their choice from more than 30 loose leaf teas, alongside each and every bite. A selection of petit fours, and fresh-baked scones served with house-made seasonal preserves and clotted cream round out the menu.
From the luxury of the hotel’s Courtyard Ballroom — featuring 50-foot ceilings, limestone walls, and iconic David Bierk artwork — guests will be able to take in every minute of pomp via screening of the official Coronation footage. An interactive photo booth featuring a London backdrop will allow patrons to feel as though they've been transported across the pond.
High on spectacle, majesty, and a surfeit of calories, guests will feel almost as chuffed as the newly crowned king himself. To reserve your spot, visit Opentable.ca.
