Indulge in Afro-Caribbean flavours at Toronto's limited-time weekend pop-up

After almost a three-year gap since his last pop-up, Yawd, chef Adrian Forte is back to dazzle the Toronto food scene with his latest pop-up — and he is joined by friends.

"Sunday's Best," presented by Forte and The Kingston Group — featuring chefs like Noel Cunningham and T Madison — will feature five culinary professionals that take the patrons on a unique experiential culinary journey, all the while paying tribute to their ancestors who paved the way through each carefully-curated dish.

The pop-up will be held at Henry's Restaurant and Wine Bar on February 5th, 12th and 19th. There are two seatings available on each date: one at 5:30 p.m. and the other at 8:30 p.m. The price is $100 per person and tickets are available here.

TKG — a group of Toronto chefs that have come together to bring you this experience — and Henry's are coming together to bring interested patrons a seven-course tasting menu where you will taste unforgettable Afro-Caribbean flavours that will take serious effort to top.

This is TKG's first of hopefully many dinner series, and in honour of Black History Month, they invite everyone to pay homage to the ones before them. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to BLAC — the Black Legal Action Centre.

On top of those three dates, there is also one seating available at 5 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Soho House located at 192 Adelaide St. While that event is closed off to members only, everyone is allowed to bring a guest should they choose to do so.

Henry's is an upscale restaurant located in the Trinity-Bellwoods neighbourhood. A joint that is elevated through its comfortable service and top-notch hospitality, its menu is seasonal, globally inspired and constantly evolving. On top of delectable food, it also offers an extensive wine list focusing on classic regions, multi-generational families and balanced flavours.

Adrian Forte, the torchbearer for this dinner project series, is an international chef, culinary consultant and TV personality. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, his passion for all things food is evident in each of his creations. His background in the culinary industry has paved a clear road to excellence in restaurant management and menu development.

With the confluence of these two forces, it is clear that this "Sunday's Best" dinner series will not be one to miss. Catch him and the other members of The Kingston Group paying their respects to the ones who walked before them and cleared out a path where they now roam.
