If the withdrawal hasn't completely defeated you and you've been chomping at the bit for a Plain Jane burger from Harry's, it looks like our wait is almost over. After closing its doors in October 2019, Harry's turned its ownership back to its previous staff, aptly naming the joint The Originals Dining Lounge. With the promise of big things to come, Harry's Instagram page has teased us since the fall about the opening of a new venture.
This past week Grant van Gameren took to the Food and Wine Industry Navigator Facebook group to advertise jobs for Harry's Charbroiled long-awaited food truck. Positions include 'energetic cashiers, burger smashers and a kitchen manager'. If a fun gig with local travel perks is exactly what you've been wanting for your summer employment, the seasonal position is from May to October with full-time and part-time hours available. Positions will start at a sustainable wage of $18/hr.
At the end of January, van Gameren also posted a public Facebook status taking note of pockets in the city where people would love to see the truck parked. With a recognizable brand and strong following, it's likely that a lot of summer festivals and events downtown, in the GTA and various parts of the province will host Harry's food truck in order to cater to the masses. Here's hoping the famed burger truck will park itself in your neighbourhood so you can enjoy them curbside!
