Happy Coffee and Wine now has a fully stocked bottle shop

If you've ever ventured over to Happy Coffee and Wine, you already know about their laid back, ultra-cool vibes, beautiful food offerings and unique selection of funky natural wines. Now, they're adding wine shop to their list of ventures, so you can grab one (or many) of their gorgeous bottles to bring to the comfort of your home.

As we've seen over the past few months, many restaurants and other players in the hospitality industry have modified their offerings to accommodate for the new rules and safety measures that have come as a result of COVID-19. Although patio seating and socially distanced dine-in are now permitted, some spots across the city have also made an effort to facilitate at-home dining and provide a one-stop-shop for their communities to purchase groceries, alcohol and other provisions. Not only does this relieve the inconvenience of long grocery store and liquor store lineups, but it also gives Torontonians access to a wide range of unique, hard-to-find and local products in their neighbourhoods.

Happy Coffee and Wine is the latest player to pivot to retail while maintaining its service for those who still want to visit for a mid-day bite to eat. The dreamy Parkdale spot opened up last year to serve premium coffee beverages and homemade baked goodies. Shortly after, they began to carry some lovely bottles of wine for visitors' evening drinking pleasure alongside savoury snacks. They've always kept a small selection of coffee bags for retail, and once the pandemic hit, they began selling wine for purchase online too.

As of a few weeks ago, Happy now has a robust and well-rounded in-store bottle shop, situated on an aesthetically pleasing wooden shelf in their space and built specifically to exhibit the new libations. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., so you have plenty of time to hop in for a browse and pick up one of their deliciously unconventional bottles. The space still functions as a daytime cafe too, so you can get your fix of coffee and treats from Tuesday to Saturday, noon until 8 p.m.. While you can no longer linger inside for an evening glass of wine, bringing it home for a cozy night in is most definitely the next best alternative. If you're not in the west end of the city, their online bottle shop is also open 24/7, so there are plenty of options to snag something special!
