Nothing quite defines the holiday season like food does and this French patisserie is putting a festive twist on classics. Hadrien Verrier Patisserie just released a line of holiday menu items only available for pre-order until this Wednesday, December 15, at midnight. If you're lucky, you'll find some available at their Dundas West location or at Evergreen Brickworks while they're there on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., but why risk missing out if you can order ahead of time?
Currently sharing a space inside Death in Venice Gelato at 1418 Dundas Street West while their new location is being renovated, Hadrien Verrier Patisserie is most known for its flaky pastries, specifically their delectable croissants.
Naturally, you'll find the menu offers a special Christmas Croissant Box. In it, find four different croissants. The Christmas "boozy" croissant is filled with smoked bourbon dark chocolate ganache, with red and green coloured dough circling it. For the peppermint lovers, there's a white chocolate-coated candy cane croissant topped with marshmallows. It's not only sprinkled with candy cane pieces, but filled inside too.
It tastes just like a cinnamon bun, but it's a croissant; you'll also get to try the buttery cinnamon bun croissant made with cream cheese frosting.
Lastly, the choco bell hazelnut is a long croissant that can easily be devoured by two people. Stuffed with chocolate batons and hazelnut praline, when split in half, you'll notice a red swirl of dough within.
Looking to celebrate with cake? They've got three different flavours of their Bûche de Noël available. Le Trois Chocolats, a sponge cake made with milk, white and dark chocolate; Christmas Fragola which is an almond bourbon vanilla cake made with mascarpone tonka cheesecake and strawberry juniper compote; and the Nutty Santa, which is comprised of roasted hazelnut, candied praline, espresso sauce and praline mousse.
Making the perfect stocking stuffers are their Speculoos Cookie, Hot Cocoa and Guimauve Truffle because you can't have hot chocolate without marshmallows and cookies make everything better. Not your average marshmallow; these are earl grey flavoured and coated with white chocolate.
On a more savoury note, find the grand Pain Surprise. With 30 mini sandwiches, enough to feed around six people, this traditional French holiday item is a big loaf of bread that is filled with sandwiches made from the inside of the bread. Mini sandwich varieties include homemade boursin, duck rillette, prosciutto, brie cheese and pear, goat cheese honey and walnuts, isigny and smoked salmon and avocado egg salad.
Again, pre-orders for Hadrien Verrier Patisserie's holiday menu end this Wednesday, December 15 at midnight. Pick-ups are December 23 and 24, just on time for holiday celebrations. Be sure to visit their website to place your orders and follow them on Instagram to keep an eye out for their new storefront on the way.
