Harry Hanson, head bartender at Gusto 501, has launched virtual cocktail making classes in lieu of current physical distancing measures.
Hanson's new business endeavour aims to bring the community together through informative, fun and entertaining virtual sessions on learning the artistry behind cocktail making.
Hanson is an award-winning bartender (and adamantly refutes the term mixologist) and has worked all over East London, UK.
The classes start at $65 and entail a 45 minute technical session that showcases how to make two different cocktails. Customers work with Hanson to tailor a cocktail menu to their preference and are sent an ingredient list a few days prior to the virtual class. Classes can hold up to a virtual capacity of 20 of your friends and family; a great way to connect during this time of isolation.
The classes are ideal for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or even just to curb the boredom we all are facing in quarantine.
For equipment, Hanson says to have something to shake with, strain with and a bunch of ice, but regardless, he guarantees to work with what you've got on hand!
So far, the virtual cocktail classes have received nothing but rave reviews, a testimonial on the website said, "Harry did a class for my girlfriend and her friends for her birthday. The most fun we've had since social distancing started."
